During the 2020 Corona Virus Pandemic the International film competition the 48 Hour Film Project gave prompts for different challenges to create films during the state of lock down.
I took part as the team Panic Bakery with the films Lockdown Log (challenge 1) and Chronicling (challenge 2)
Johannesburg 48 Hour Film Project
The 48 Hour Film Project is an international competition that spans over 190 countries where each city participating in a given a weekend (48 hours to be exact) in which you as a team make a short film. All the elements from writing, shooting, and editing must be created in the 48 hours.
On Friday night, teams draw a genre from a hat. They are then given a mandatory character, prop and line to include in their films. The film is then screened at a local theater in front of an audience of filmmakers, friends and families.
Monica Blignaut has partcipated in the 2018 JHB 48 Hour Film Project with 'Nako ea Tee' which one best Character and best social media and in the 2019 JHB 48 Hour Film Project with 'Good Girl' which also got best social media.
